Airports
Tampa intl. Airport (TPA) is about a 20-25 minutes drive from Boca Ciega Resort & Marina. Orlando Intl. Airport, (MCO) is about 1,5 hours drive and Miami intl Airport (MIA) is about 4 hours away
If you have a stopover in the USA after an international flight you will have to go through customs and security check and aslo check out and check in your bags for the next, domestic, flight. So if you’re travelling from outside of the USA, you will save a lot of time if you choose a flight without a stopover in the USA.
To get here & visit the US, you must apply for a visa.
Some countries are a part of a visa waiver program (VWP), which enables the residents of theese countries to apply for a tourist visa over the internet.
The visa costs $14,00/person. Follow this link to apply.
If your country is not a part of VWP you have to apply for a visa through the American embassy in your country.
Car rental:
The car is almost a requirement in Florida. The roads are good and traffic is flowing at an easy pace. Bay Pines Blvd is located next to Boca Ciega Resort. This gives you aquick access to the beaches and citys in all directions.
We recommend Zest Car Rental and Economy Car Rentals. If you use any of them, you wont have any additional cost at the counter when you are about to pick up the car! Zest sometimes also include one extra driver for free!

A Jeep Grand Cherokee 14 days incl. free milage and full coverage insurance is about $700.00.
A Kia Rio with the same conditions is about $350.00.
A GPS could be a great help sometimes, but they are very expensive to rent. A GPS is about $15/day! You can buy one for $100 at Walmart!
If you decide not rent a car and want to go by public transportation.
There is a bus stop next to the building where there are regular tours to Tampa, St.Pete or the beach. They go frequently, but the best is to rent a car!
Taxi:
There are not many taxis in this area and if you happen to find one, it will probably not be a cheap fare. The way to get around if you have had a beer or more is to use UBER. It is cheap, fast and very easy to make a reservation. You will always get an estimate before you make the reservation and the car will be at your door step within 3-5 minutes.
Everything is run through your smartphone and computer, all you have to do is register at their site and give UBER your card details. The payment will be deducted from your card when you reach your destination. A 15% tip is always welcome…
